A local favorite for many years, Moffett has returned home to get his professional career started with Daytona Beach ThunderBirds of af2. Moffett was a three year starting QB at UCF (2004-2006).

Daytona Thunderbirds Training Camp Round 1
Herkie Walls, Ben Bennett, Chris Barber, Daniel James Jr., sounds like a Who’s Who of Orlando Predator and AFL Greats. Yes, but more importantly they were the ThunderBird coaches and volunteers for Saturday’s tryout camp. Along with Ed Hargrove, Tom Herter and Jim Baker, all with NFL ties, what a wealth of talent! From the outset, one could sense this camp was something different.

Daytona Beach - The Daytona Beach ThunderBirds Dance Team will hold auditions on Saturday, December 15th at Club Boom Fitness Center in Ormond Beach for the 2008 Team. Registration will begin at 11:30 AM and orientation and auditions will start promptly at 12 PM.
Dance combinations consisting of a variety of dance styles will be taught for the audition. Dancers do not have to prepare anything for the auditions. Please bring a headshot or a close up picture, application fee, water, a towel and a smile.

Our local indoor football team was facing fourth-and-long situation last week, and Daytona Beach Thunder CEO Zack McDonald scrambled for a first down.

The organization had pulled out of the World Indoor Football League, a league it helped form just a year ago.
Time was running out on the opportunity for the Thunder to join another league in time to play in 2008 season.
The team had targeted the Arena Football League 2 (AF2), but it seemed like a long shot. There didn't seem to be enough time.

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Bo Bartik threw a World Indoor Football League record eight touchdowns Friday night. The Daytona Beach Thunder still lost. Trouble with the bus on the way to Augusta to take on the Spartans was only the beginning of a long night for the Thunder at E-Auction Depot field at the James Brown arena as 3,039 saw the Spartans win 66-49.
