DAYTONA BEACH 41, South Georgia 62South Georgia QB Cecil Lester came into the game in relief of starer Andrico Hines and led the South Georgia Wildcats to a 62-41 victory over the Daytona Beach ThunderBirds before a crowd of 1,834 at the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach. Lester was 18 of 30 on the day for 282 yards and eight touchdown passes. Steven Moffett got the start for the Daytona Beach ThunderBirds (2-11) and played well going 23 of 46 for 215 yards and five touchdown passes on the day. This was the sixth game of the season that Moffett has seen action in. Toris Rutledge led all receivers with 10 catches for 98 yards and a touchdown while Antwone Savage led the way for the WIldcats (9-4) catching seven passes for 97 yards and three touchdowns. Daytona Beach led through the first quarter, 14-13 but three straight unanswered touchdown drives from the end of the first quarter through the second quarter created an insurmountable lead for the Wildcats. One bright spot for the TBirds was the play of WR Lamar Hughes. Hughes opened the scoring for Daytona Beach with a 57 yard kickoff return for a touchdown and he closed the scoring for Daytona Beach on a 10 yard pass from Moffett with 42 seconds remaining in the game.
